Mission Statement

Saratoga Lake Protection and Improvement District (SLPID) was formed by the New York State Legislature in 1986 in the best interests of the people of New York State.  SLPID is the lead government agency responsible for the protection and well being of Saratoga Lake and the lands that surround it. 

The SLPID district is in the Towns of Malta, Saratoga, Stillwater, and the city of Saratoga Springs in the County of Saratoga.  SLPID ensures the preservation of real property values within the district, improve the water quality of Saratoga Lake, thereby enhancing the opportunities for public water-related recreational activities, conserve the fish and wildlife while enhancing the scenic beauty.


SLPID Commissioners are residents within the Saratoga Lake tax district, elected officials for a three year term. Our programs ensure long-term stability of water quality and environmental health along with educational programs.  SLPID is a vital governing body of Saratoga Lake to help ensure the beauty of Saratoga Lake as the jewel in Saratoga County.
